Resilient WyCo

  • KCKCC Technical Education Center 6565 State Avenue Kansas City, KS, 66102 United States (map)

Join Healthy Communities Wyandotte’s “Alive & Thrive” for a Community Conversation about the impact of trauma on Wyandotte County and what we can do to build a more resilient community.

In this conversation we will ask:

  • What is trauma?
  • What impact does trauma have on Wyandotte County’s overall health?
  • What can we do to build a more resilient community?
  • What role should our criminal justice and educational institutions play to effectively respond to people who have experienced traumatic events?

Alive & Thrive is a community-driven initiative that aims to promote trauma-informed practices throughout Wyandotte County and raise awareness about the impact traumatic experiences can have on individual and community health. Launched in 2017, “Alive & Thrive” is just beginning to define the scope of its work. But we cannot fully define that work without hearing from stakeholders and the community at large. That’s why we need you to help us begin the conversation!

Coffee and pastries will be provided.  Lunch will be served.
