Downtown Spotlight from Jason - November 27, 2018
Thanksgiving has come and gone, and unkindly left us covered under a blanket of snow and ice. However, that “gift” doesn’t stop Downtown from moving along, and even now as I look out my window, construction continues on the new Juvenile Justice facility. The holidays are now in full swing, and this Friday is the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting Festival, at the UG City Hall, from 4-7. There are many activities for the entire family, including crafts for kids, food from local vendors including funnel cakes, cotton candy and two local food trucks. There is musical entertainment featuring student and community musicians. And of course, there is a visit from the main attraction, Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Before the Mayor lights the tree this year, I wanted to take a moment to thank our generous sponsors:
Law Office of William Hutton and the Cork House
Their support makes the entertainment and items for the children possible, and is greatly appreciated.
I look forward to seeing everyone Downtown on Friday at 4!
