Downtown Shareholders April 2018 Board Meeting with KU Health System.png

It feels like Spring has finally, actually, eventually arrived, and activity Downtown has begun to increase. Activity is already starting in The University of Kansas Health System's building (formerly the EPA building, but it needs a new name), and the DTSKCK Board was visited by some representatives of KUHS, who shared their vision and ideas about their exciting project. Expect the building to eventually host hundreds of employees! It was very good to hear from KU, and to hear their intention to be committed to Downtown and all that we have going on here. I expect their presence will serve as a catalyst for much development in the rest of the district.

Friday May 11 has two events that should bring you outside to enjoy the Spring. First, beginning at 11:30 AM, is our first Food Truck Friday, featuring the 4th Down Grill. Do come to Huron Park over lunch and taste their American cuisine offerings. And if you like flowers and a pretty Minnesota Avenue, we are doing our annual planting of the flower pots that live in our district. Volunteers are encouraged to join, just bring some willingness to handle dirt, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Our best Downtown KCK is an active and engaged one, so take every advantage of our Spring weather, get outside and enjoy!
