Downtown Spotlight from Jason - May 15, 2018

One of the ways Downtown Shareholders does work that lies “below the surface” is to give input and ideas on matters that affect the future of Downtown KCK. Whether that’s making a phone call on behalf of a business owner or resident; attending meetings with Downtown’s interests in mind, or offering advice and assistance to parties who need help; being present and giving voice to our issues is a critical part in moving Downtown forward.

Kansas City Kansas Public Library has been hosting a series of public inputs on the future of the Downtown branch. There is one remaining meeting, on Wednesday, May 16 at 11 AM at the Main Branch. KCKPL has been a long committed partner to Downtown (and the Shareholders) and wants to remain a vital and relevant part of this neighborhood and community in the future. Your input can be crucial in making sure their plans work in the community interest and will help shape the form the future of the library takes in Downtown.

I strongly encourage you to attend this final input session, if you haven’t already. And if you can’t go (11 AM meetings do tend to interfere with work), drop me a line – Director@DowntownKCK.org – and let me know what you want to see in the library’s future, and I will take your message with me there. History is often made by those who show up.
