Trash/Recycling Services on MLK Day

From the Unified Government:

We want to provide an update on the information we provided earlier regarding residential trash and curbside recycling services on the Martin Luther King Day Holiday.

Due to the potential of a severe winter storm forecast bringing snow and ice to our area, Waste Management has decided to collect residential trash and recycling on the Martin Luther King Day holiday, Monday, January 21, 2019.

So, this means your trash and recycling will be picked up on your regular schedule day:

  • Monday pickup will be done on Monday

  • Tuesday pickup will be done on Tuesday

  • Wednesday pickup will be done on Wednesday

  • Thursday pickup will be done on Thursday

  • Friday pickup will be done on Friday

Please keep in mind, trash and recycling services could potentially be disrupted or delayed on any day during a severe weather event. We will keep you posted through the UG’s Facebook, Nextdoor and the UG website, if there are any changes in the trash collection schedule.

If there are any issues or questions concerning trash and recycling services, please report them to the 311 Call Center or visit to submit a Trash Collection Request. You can also learn more about solid waste management online.

Please help us get the word out by sharing with co-workers, family and friends.
