The UG Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with Latino Health for All Coalition is seeking funding for Wyandotte County Parks and Recreation Outdoor Fitness Court Project.  Parks and Recreation received a small grant from the National Fitness Campaign to bring free fitness to our community.  The fitness court is a unique exercise platform designed for parks and community spaces providing an accessible way to get healthy and stay fit.  The location of the fitness court will be at Huron Park N. 6th Street and Minnesota Avenue.

Since 2008, the Latino Health for All Coalition has a mission of promoting healthy living among Latinos in Wyandotte County.  For several years the Coalition has worked to improve parks in Wyandotte County by installing exercise stations, practice soccer fields, and improving other amenities such as walking trails.  The goal is to promote healthy living by increasing the number of people who use parks and engage in more vigorous physical activity.

Anticipated installation will take place mid-June 2019 with a launch day soon to follow.
