Due to Heat Warnings, Residential Routes to Start Earlier
6:00 a.m. Start Time for Remainder of July and August
Due to the forecast for extreme heat the remainder of this month, Waste Management of Kansas, Inc. will begin residential trash collection at 6:00 a.m. The earlier pick-up schedule will go into effect on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 for residential customers in the following counties in Kansas: Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Miami, Linn and Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass counties in Missouri.
The safety of our employees is one of our top priorities. The current 30-day outlook for the Kansas City metropolitan area reflects temperatures in the high 90 degrees with potential triple digit heat-index. As a reminder, residential trash and recycling carts should be placed at the curb by 6 a.m.
