Annual Eagle Days Event at Wyandotte County Lake
The Mr. & Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library will host the 16th Annual Eagle Days, Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22 at the Wyandotte County Lake Park in Kansas City, Kansas. January has proven to be one of the best times of the year for viewing live eagles and other waterfowl along the lake, providing the perfect opportunity to learn about these majestic birds.
This free, family-friendly event will take place at the Mr. & Mrs. F.L. Schlagle Library and James P. Davis Hall located at Wyandotte County Lake Park.
Weekend activities will include an arts and craft area for kids, live bird demonstrations by Operation Wildlife featuring a variety of eagles, falcons, hawks and owls. Outdoor volunteers will help visitors with spotting scopes set up at lake sites near areas where eagles are known to visit.
This event is sponsored by the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU); Operation Wildlife; the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library; Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools; and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City Kansas, Parks and Recreation Department.
