When is the Best Time to Post on Facebook?
Howdy, Friends! Welcome to our newsletter's latest addition: Marketing Tips You Can (Really) Use.
We get that running a small business is no small business. Your time matters; your works matters; your goals and success matter; and we're here to help. So, let's get started.
Q: What's the best time to post on Facebook? A: When your customers are online.
You know Facebook is important, we know Facebook is important, and your customers have already been using it for years. So, when is the best time to post? According to Hootsuite:
The best time to post on Facebook is between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. And on Saturday and Sunday between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
Boom. There ya have it. Easy, right? No - not at all. As of 2017, Facebook has 2 billion monthly users across the planet. Sure, posting at some point between 12 and 3 PM on a Wednesday is likely to get your information to customers, but remember that the data referenced is an average. It's the combination of data from various pages reaching unique people, in unique markets, and in unique parts of the world. Is your business international? Is your ideal customer the entire planet, the United States, or even a whole state? I'm betting not.
So, what's the best time to post on Facebook? Say it with me: when your customers are on Facebook. Here's how you find out when that is:
2) Look at the left-hand side of your screen. Find the tab marked Posts and click once. This is what we're after. You'll notice Facebook displays information about when your Fans are online. Fans are people who Like or follow your page. On this particular page, Wednesday looks pretty busy with a total 969 fans browsing Facebook. Let's look closer.
Now we're cooking. Based on available information, we can see that traffic on Wednesday peaks at 11 AM, 4 PM, and 8 PM. So, if the owner of this page wants to reach her customers when they're online, those are the times she should aim for.
