BPU Announces Photo Contest Opportunity

The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is accepting entries for the BPU Photo Contest. Whether you are an amateur or professional, the purpose of this contest is to showcase the best photographs that highlight Wyandotte County, Kansas. Photo entries should celebrate the beauty and uniqueness that the Wyandotte County community has to offer. From historic areas to entertainment attractions, Wyandotte County is bursting with endless opportunities to capture memorable and creative moments.  Photographers can submit an unlimited amount of photos; however, no more than two photos per person can be selected. All entries will be reviewed and judged by a committee of BPU employees. The winning photographs will be featured on the BPU website, social media pages, and Customer Connection newsletter.  The official entry form with complete details is available online at www.bpu.com/about/ourcommunity/photocontest. Submissions for this contest must be received no later than 11:59 PM CST, on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

About BPU BPU’s water department was originally created in 1909, and its electric utility was operational in 1912. The purpose of the utility, then and to this day, is to provide the highest quality electric and water services at the lowest possible cost. Today the publicly owned utility serves approximately 63,000 electric and 50,000 water customers, primarily in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
