The Challenges of Treating the Anxious Patient

Mental Health America of the HeartlandDr. Stephen F. Pringle, MA, DMin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri and currently works as a Senior Therapist with Diakonos Counseling in Independence, Missouri. He has served as a youth minister, pastor, military chaplain, and a professional counselor in the Midwest for the past 45 years. Dr. Pringle focuses his counseling treatment in the areas of depression, anxiety, marriage, family, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Theological Master's of Divinity and a Theological Doctor of Ministry which focused in counseling. He also holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. Dr. Pringle has placed his energy and efforts full-time on growing and developing Diakonos Counseling into the Center it is today. He and his staff maintain a strong commitment in providing quality mental health care to the Kansas City Metropolitan area as well as the Midwest Region.

Objectives: After attending this program, the participant will be able to:

  • Better understand the multiple and sometimes complicated challenges when treating the anxious patient.
  • Obtain a more broad and thorough understanding of the numerous and unusual ways anxiety may manifest itself in the anxious patient.
  • Learn methods and approaches that succeed in treating the anxious patient.
