Downtown KCK Holiday Lighting on Nov. 20

downtown kck holiday lightingOne of our favorite downtown KCK traditions is almost here! Join us for the Downtown Holiday Lighting, which kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at City Hall (7th & Barnett, KCK). Activities include:

  • Visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus
  • Goody bags for the first 1,000 children
  • Holiday movies, crafts, games and popcorn
  • Performances from local choirs, bands and dance groups
  • Neighborhood tree contest
  • Local food vendors
  • Hot air balloon night glow

At 7 p.m., please join Mayor Mark Holland and Deputy Sheriff Scott Wood for the lighting ceremony. From Mayor Holland: "Deputy Wood, who has served with the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office since 2007, had just gotten off his shift last March when he was shot and critically wounded in an armed robbery at a local convenience store. Deputy Wood is on the road to recovery, and we hope you'll join us Friday to show him the support he deserves for his commitment to our community."
