Downtown Shareholders Receives Kansas State Historical Society Grant, Seeks Proposals

Exciting news! Downtown Shareholders is the recipient of a grant from the Kansas State Historical Society that enables an update of an intensive architectural survey of historic properties originally performed in 1993. The grant provides for reevaluation of those properties, plus an additional survey of new construction and a note about which of the original properties have seen been torn down. Once the survey is complete, that information will be released to the general public to help identify and market development opportunities in the area. Additionally, special notice will be given to appropriate governmental agencies for planning and code enforcement responsibilities. To fulfill the survey work, Downtown Shareholders is seeking proposals from consultants with proven experience in historic preservation to conduct the survey, which includes approximately 225 properties in the downtown area. Please refer to the full RFP document for requirements and additional information.
