Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days Scheduled

The schedule for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection days for Wyandotte County residents has been set for 2017. The site will be open from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM on the following Saturdays: April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16, and October 21. The event is for residents and not for businesses or nonprofits. The Wyandotte County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Site is located at 2443 South 88th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. The main categories of items accepted include automotive products; home improvement products; household products; lawn and garden products; as well as tires. When bringing items to the collection site please label or identify all items.

Automotive products include auto batteries, brake fluid, carburetor cleaner, degreasers, gasoline & fuels, and used motor oils. Visit online for more information about used oil.

Home improvement products accepted include concrete cleaner, driveway sealer, furniture stripper, glue with solvents, latex & oil based paint, paint thinner, putty, grout, calk, spackle, roofing tar, stain, varnish, lacquer, turpentine, water-based glues, and wood preservatives. Household products include aerosol products, drain & oven cleaners, mothballs, nail polish remover, polishes with solvents, spot remover, and propane cylinders.

Lawn and garden products include fertilizer with weed killer, herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, and rodent bait. Visit us online for more information on pesticide.
