Job Alert: Health Improvement/Planning Coordinator, Unified Government
The Unified Government Public Health Department (UGPHD) is seeking to hire a Health Improvement/Planning Coordinator. This position will lead and direct: the community health assessment and community health improvement plan; development of the health department’s strategic plan; and continuing the processes necessary to achieve and maintain accreditation status through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). This position will also coordinate and manage the department’s quality improvement program, performance management activities, informatics, and other projects as assigned by the director. This position requires strong community collaboration and the ability to build and maintain community partnerships. Must be able to work independently, be well organized and able to multi-task, knowledgeable of quantitative/qualitative data collection and analysis, have strong leadership and group facilitation skills, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail. A working knowledge of core functions and essential services of public health, and PHAB accreditation standards and measures is expected.
An undergraduate degree is required. A graduate degree preferred. Degree(s) should be in the area of public health (preferred), public or business administration, healthcare, education, or related field. On the job experience in community health assessments, quality improvement, performance management, PHAB requirements, and public health preferred.
Must have reliable personal transportation and valid KS driver’s license. 40-hour workweek M-F includes some occasional evening events. Travel required for some trainings. A background check and drug screen is conducted on potential candidate(s). Must reside in Wyandotte County or relocate within 12 months for continued employment. Benefits package.
