BHC RHODESOverview:

Work from notes, sketches, maps, and other material to complete survey tasks with a minimum of supervision. Works with various members of the surveying project team. Has official contact with clients as needed. Reports to the crew chief, project surveyor, project manager or survey manager. Local field work locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operates and utilize all survey equipment - GPS and conventional in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic and engineering surveys
  • Work from notes, sketches, maps and other material to complete survey tasks with a minimum of supervision
  • Utilize technology on boundary, ALTA, topographic and engineering surveys
  • Communicate with the crew chief before, during and after completion of field work to properly relay information on field conditions on-site
  • Communicate with the client, when needed, to ensure satisfaction with work performed and to overcome obstacles in the performance of field duties
  • Responsible for clear, informative and accurate field notes
  • Work cooperatively in a multiple crew setting
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and welfare of all equipment in the field including the work vehicle
  • Train or assist in training less experienced staff and help them resolve technical problems

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma with at least 7 years of experience is required
  • A valid driver’s license must be possessed and maintained
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and to lift and carry heavy objects
  • Must be proficient with data collectors, total stations (conventional and robotic)
  • GPS/RTK experience is necessary
  • Must understand algebra, trigonometry and geometry
