Kansas City Electronics Recycling
Wyandotte County residents can participate in an electronics recycling event that is being held on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 9 AM to 12 PM at Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City’s ReStore located at 1270 Merriam Lane in Kansas City, Kansas. The drop off for electronics will be in the parking lot at the northeast corner of 14th & Merriam Lane. The event is for metropolitan residents; it is not for businesses, governments, or institutions. There is not a charge for residents. Items that you can bring to the event include computers, printers, monitors, scanners, peripherals, old T.V. sets, old cell phones, DVD players, fax machines, personal copiers, stereos, radios, tape players, turntables, PDAs, Game Boys, VCRs, and cameras. There is a limit of 10 items per car that will be accepted.
Although the event is scheduled from 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, October 28th; please be aware that if participation is greater than expected the hours of operation could be cut back. No items will be accepted prior to or after this time period.
This event is celebrating America Recycles Day. America Recycles Day, a program of Keep America Beautiful, is a nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Every year on or around November 15, America Recycles Day encourages individuals to reduce, reuse, recycle and buy recycled content products.
Partners of the electronic recycling event include Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City’s ReStore; (UNICOR) Federal Prison Industries Inc.; the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas; Phi Theta Kappa at Kansas City Kansas Community College; and Operation Brightside Inc.
