UG Launching Amazon Link Transit Service

With the opening of the Amazon Fulfillment Center later this summer, Unified Government Transit is launching new bus service to help residents get to work there. Amazon is hiring more than 1,000 employees to open the 2.3-million square foot facility near I-70 and the Turner Diagonal. Many of those workers will be Wyandotte County residents. The shuttle style service will run on weekdays and weekends from the 10th and Main Transit Center in KCMO and from the 47th Street Transit Center near the former Indian Springs site. The shuttles will make five morning trips and six afternoon/evening trips during weekdays and three morning and three afternoon/evening trips on weekends. The weekday service will run every 30 minutes and the weekend service will run every hour. This specialized shuttle service is centered around the times Amazon workers will need to report to work and when they get off work.
