In July, County Administrator Doug Bach announced that the Unified Government had reached an initial agreement with The Merc to be the operator of a downtown grocery store. EPA Local Air Quality Project

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) needs your help with a Citizen Science air quality research project in the Turner, Argentine, and Armourdale neighborhoods.  The Kansas City Transportation and Air Quality Study project (KC TRAQS) invites residents or groups to check out handheld air monitors called, “AirMappers” and record air quality data in their neighborhood.

KCK Parks and Recreation Named Finalist for Special Field Refurbishment Grants

The Unified Government’s Parks and Recreation Department has been chosen as a finalist for a special field refurbishment grant from the Scotts Company LLC (Scotts) and Major League Baseball (MLB). Scotts and MLB today announced the four community organizations that will be now be voted upon by fans to receive improvements to their local ball fields through an inaugural grant initiative that is part of the Scotts® Field Refurbishment Program.
