Kansas Main Street & Downtown Shareholders of KCK
Preserving Our History. Building Our Future.
Downtown Shareholders of KCK (DTS) is proud to be part of the Kansas Main Street program, a statewide initiative led by the Kansas Department of Commerce that supports the revitalization of historic downtown districts. Through this partnership, DTS gains access to specialized training, technical assistance, valuable resources, and a statewide network of communities working to strengthen their downtowns. These connections allow us to learn from successful revitalization efforts across Kansas, collaborate with experts, and bring innovative ideas and proven strategies back to Downtown KCK.
As Downtown KCK's revitalization organization, DTS follows the nationally recognized Main Street Four-Point Approach: Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization. This framework guides our efforts to support local businesses, attract new investment, encourage the redevelopment of vacant properties, preserve historic buildings, enhance public spaces, and bring people downtown through community events and activities. From storefront improvements and entrepreneurship to public art, business recruitment, and community engagement, Main Street principles help us turn downtown's potential into visible progress.
Downtown KCK has the history, architecture, cultural diversity, entrepreneurial spirit, and community pride to become a thriving destination once again. Our partnership with Kansas Main Street helps us build on these strengths, creating new opportunities for businesses, residents, property owners, and visitors while preserving the unique character of our historic urban core.
Together, we're not simply preserving Downtown KCK's past—we're building its future.
